Many Hollywood films have been remade into Bollywood. Remakes are common, popular and box office hits. However, when some Hollywood films are remade into Bollywood, those Bollywood films are seen to be more hits than their original versions. ‘U Turn’ is an American neo-noir crime thriller directed by Oliver Stone starring Sean Penn and Jennifer Lopez in the lead roles. The Bollywood remake of this 1997 film, titled ‘Musafir’, was released in 2004. Musafir, directed by Sanjay Gupta and starring Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Sameera Reddy in the lead roles, was highly acclaimed and won several awards.

‘Baazigar’ is a super hit Bollywood film starring Shah Rukh Khan – Kajol. The 1993 romantic action thriller film ‘Baazigar’ was one of the best films of Shah Rukh Khan’s career. Directed by Abbas-Mustan, ‘Baazigar’ was a Bollywood remake of the 1991 American romantic thriller film ‘A Kiss Before Dying’ directed by James Dearden. There are many more films like this, i.e. films that have been remade into Bollywood from other languages, which have received more attention than the original version.
