Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor is an annual award given by the Kerala state government to the best actors in Malayalam movies. The state government started giving this award in 1969. Mohanlal has won this award six times in the years 1986, 1991, 1995, 1999, 2005 and 2007. Mohanlal won his first Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in T. P Balagopalan M. A. Mohanlal was given the award in 1991 for his performance in three films namely Abhimanyu, Ulladakkam and Kilukkam. In 1995, Mohanlal won the award for his work in the films Spadikam and Kaalapani. Mohanlal won the award again in 2005 for Thanmathra and in 2007 for Paradesi.
